Staying active is a core component of a happy life. At Matthias House we offer a variety of activities for our residents, that include boardgames, bingo, book readings, entertainers, arts & crafts activities, movie matinees and movement activities. Our in-house activities coordinator goes the extra mile to get to know every new resident and cater to their needs and preferences.

We celebrate Christmas, Easter, and Halloween all together in the home and have an outdoor Summer fete in July. Families and friends are very welcome to join in at our parties!

We have developed close links with a local primary school, where we sponsor two annual drawing competitions in which our residents judge the children’s drawings and award the prizes in school. Part of this cooperation are Crafts & Coffee activities in which our residents engage creatively together with nursery and reception children from the school.

If you have any hobbies you wish to continue with or you would like to introduce into the home, please speak to our activities coordinator. We strongly encourage all our residents to keep engaged in any activities and groups they enjoy and will be as supportive as possible to facilitate this.
